Terms And Conditions
These Terms & Conditions outline the agreement between Coastal Pups Dog Grooming (“we”, “us”, “our”) and the client (“you”, “your”) when booking and receiving grooming services. By booking an appointment, you agree to the following:
1. Health & Safety
All dogs must be up to date with core vaccinations as recommended by Queensland veterinary standards.
Dogs showing signs of contagious illness (e.g., kennel cough, parasites, skin infections) may be refused service.
You must inform us of any medical conditions, behavioural issues, allergies, or sensitivities prior to the grooming service.
For the safety of groomers and other pets, any dog displaying aggressive behaviour may require a muzzle and/or may be refused service. A handling fee may apply.
In the event of an emergency, we reserve the right to seek veterinary care for your dog at your expense.
2. Coat Condition & Matting
If your dog’s coat is matted, we may need to perform a shave-down for the dog’s comfort and welfare (in compliance with the Animal Care and Protection Act 2001 (Qld)).
Additional fees may apply for severely matted coats due to extra time, equipment wear, and safety considerations.
We are not responsible for temporary irritation, clipper rash, hair thinning, or skin sensitivity that can occur following the removal of matting.
3. Behaviour & Handling
Dogs that are difficult to handle, anxious, or aggressive may require extra time and incur an additional handling fee.
If a dog becomes too stressed or unsafe to continue, we may stop the grooming session for the wellbeing of the dog. Full or partial fees may still apply.
4. Appointment Policies
4.1 Cancellations
Cancellations or rescheduling within 24 hours of the appointment may incur a cancellation fee.
No-shows will be charged the full service fee.
4.2 Late Arrivals
Arriving more than 10 minutes late may reduce the groom time or require rescheduling. Fees may apply.
4.3 Pick-Up Policy
Dogs must be collected promptly after grooming. Extended stays may incur a daycare/holding fee.
5. Pricing
All prices are subject to change based on coat condition, size, temperament, and grooming requirements.
An exact quote may not be possible until the groomer assesses the dog at drop-off.
6. Parasites
If fleas or ticks are found, a compulsory flea/tick treatment and cleaning fee will apply.
Severe infestations may require termination of the grooming session for safety and hygiene reasons.
7. Skin, Coat & Grooming Outcomes
We aim to achieve your preferred style, but results may vary depending on coat condition, matting, behaviour, and previous grooming history.
We are not responsible for pre-existing skin conditions, injuries, or irritations discovered during grooming.
Sharp-looking finishes or breed-standard cuts may not be possible on neglected or severely matted coats.
8. Photography & Media
With your consent, we may take photos or videos of your dog for marketing or social media purposes. These will never include personal identifying information.
9. Liability
While we take every reasonable precaution, grooming may involve the use of sharp tools and equipment. Minor nicks, stress-related reactions, or irritation may occur.
You agree that we are not liable for injuries, illnesses, or complications resulting from:
Pre-existing health conditions
Undisclosed behavioural issues
Matted or neglected coats
Fleas, ticks, or parasites
You accept responsibility for any damages your dog causes to property, equipment, or staff.
10. Payment
Payment is due at the end of the appointment.
Unpaid invoices may result in future bookings being declined.
11. Compliance With Queensland Law
We operate in accordance with:
Animal Care and Protection Act 2001 (Qld)
Australian Consumer Law (ACL)
All relevant local council regulations
12. Agreement
By booking a grooming service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions set by Coastal Pups Dog Grooming.
